Alleviate Persistent Neck Pain With Physical Therapy

Most of the time, neck pain happens because there’s something wrong with a muscle or joint. Figuring out what the real source is can be difficult, but with the help of our experienced therapists, you can get to the root of your problems and, more importantly, get the solutions you’re looking for.

Our therapists will use treatments including specific stretches, hands-on techniques, and strength exercises that are tailored for immediate and lasting relief. Our ultimate goal? To help you return to a life you can enjoy to the fullest.

Source of Neck Pain: Causes and Symptoms

Neck pain is a multifaceted condition, and its origins can vary widely from person to person. Whether your discomfort starts from an unfortunate car accident or something that seems insignificant, like maintaining an improper posture while working at your desk, our team can help.

What may appear to be a minor issue, such as a recurring crick in your neck, could potentially develop into a chronic issue that disrupts your daily life.

For some individuals, the issue lies deeper within the structure of the spine (for example, changes to the discs and the cushions between vertebrae). Disc degeneration can lead to pain and difficulty moving the neck, whereas problems such as bulging or herniated discs can be particularly painful and can even lead to nerve compression. This often results in additional symptoms such as sharp, radiating pain or numbness extending into the shoulders or arms.

Luckily, our physical therapists are skilled at identifying these contributing factors and formulating an effective treatment plan tailored to alleviate your specific symptoms.

Make the Most of Your Summer Vacation with Physical Therapy

Whether you’re heading to the beach or hitting up an amusement park, the last thing you want to deal with during your vacation is pain and limited mobility. As you make your summer vacation plans, consider adding one more thing to your checklist: a physical therapy session at Columbus Physical Therapy.

Our therapists will help ensure your body is ready for whatever adventures you have planned. We’ll…

  • Identify any underlying issues that might contribute to pain or restricted movement.
  • Develop a customized treatment plan to resolve those issues so you can have a pain-free trip.
  • Provide tips and strategies to ensure you don’t suffer pain or impairment while you’re away.

A vacation is a chance to relax and try new things, not suffer through joint pain. We’ll help resolve those issues early so you can focus on what matters: having the time of your life.

  • 6 Tbsp. unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 Tbsp. honey
  • 1/4 tsp. kosher salt
  • 1 bunch pencil asparagus, ends trimmed
  • 1 Tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil
  • All-purpose flour, for surface
  • 2 sheets frozen puff pastry, thawed according to package directions
  • 12 slices prosciutto
  • 1 (8-oz.) wheel Brie, cut into 12 pieces
  • 1 large egg

Preheat oven to 400° and line 2 large baking sheets with parchment. In a small bowl, combine butter, honey, and salt. In a medium bowl, toss asparagus in oil. On a lightly floured surface, working one at a time, roll out puff pastry to a 15” x 10” rectangle. Cut each into 6 squares for a total of 12. Rotate square to a diamond shape and brush with butter mixture. Top with a slice of prosciutto, folding as needed to fit inside square. Top with a few pieces of asparagus and a slice of Brie. In a small bowl, mix egg and a splash of water until blended. Fold left side of pastry over filling and brush with egg wash. Fold right side of pastry over and brush top and sides with more egg wash; season with pepper. Arrange on prepared sheet. Repeat with remaining puff pastry; reserve any remaining butter mixture. Bake bundles until golden and Brie is melted, about 15 minutes. Brush with more reserved butter mixture before serving.

Patient Testimonial

“I have been treated by Columbus Physical Therapy twice. The first time was for lower back pain, and this time for a torn rotator cuff. Both experiences have resulted in miraculous recoveries! I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

The whole team has become like family. They are truly great people and professionals who genuinely care about your recovery. I will miss them all.

Thank you to Sarah, the other Sarah, Jocelyn, TeriAnn, Ashley, Amanda, and Scott!”

Patient Testimonial

“Physical therapy helped me go from limping through work to being able to be on my feet for 12 hours pain-free. I’ve had a great experience with Humphrey Physical Therapy and would recommend their services to anyone dealing with plantar fasciitis. Cupping and dry needling helped so much.”

“Northeast Nebraska Physical Therapy checked all the boxes for physical therapy. They worked on strengthening my knee and improving my balance. Katie was great at keeping things lively by introducing new exercises during the sessions.

All of the staff were upbeat, cheerful, and greeted everyone who came in. Thanks!”
